Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences - PNAS, Vol.90(20), p9649

Abstract
In a study, it was found that patients with sporadic late-onset Alzheimer disease who have one or two copies of apolipoprotein E genotype 4 (APOE4) have a distinctive neuropathological phenotype of greatly increased vascular and plaque amyloid deposits compared with patients homozygous for APOE3.
