COMP. EDUC, Vol.7(2), pp.121-124
01 Jan 1983
Abstract
Computer-aided methods play an increasing role in the professional life of engineers. As a consequence those methods must be an integrated part of the education and training of engineering students. Supported by Federal, State and College funds two groups namely ESPE (Engineering Science Program Exchange) at Queen Mary College, London, United Kingdom and CAT (Computer Assisted Training) at the Fachhochschule fur Technik, Esslingen, Federal Republic of Germany develop and evaluate new means and methods of instruction. Special emphasis is given to the computer as a learning device. To develop adequately tested CAL materials which are pedagogically founded is a time-consuming and expensive task.
