The Journal of arts management, law, and society, v 42(3), pp 128-140
01 Jul 2012
Abstract
The 2008 recession was accompanied by a wave of technological, social, and other changes. In its wake, arts advocates find themselves on a changed battlefield, where individuals have an increasing ability to organize and leverage community networks to effect policy change. This new context requires different structures of advocacy support, as well as different advocacy strategies. This article suggests an adjusted framework for arts advocacy strategy, chronicling changes in political and other contexts and their subsequent implications for the arts.
