Abstract
This paper presents a review of the existing methods for determining vanishing variables in Transportation problems. We suggest generalizations of some of the old methods and discuss new possible applications. The applications can be used to save on the cost of obtaining the

matrix; to solve desired parts of a problem instead of entire problems especially with incomplete data set; to decrease the densty of the problem and to decompose it.
