Miocene deposits in the Amazonia foreland basin. (includes reply)

Abstract
A study that described late Miocene sediments in Acre, Brazil as tidal and caused by a southern Atlantic connection is challenged. Previous research indicates that the sediments are fluvial in origin and probably were deposited by the precursor of the Amazon River.
