Abstract

Geology, Stratigraphic Marine sediments Miocene Miocene Epoch Paleogeography Stratigraphy
A study that described late Miocene sediments in Acre, Brazil as tidal and caused by a southern Atlantic connection is challenged. Previous research indicates that the sediments are fluvial in origin and probably were deposited by the precursor of the Amazon River.
