Abstract
Extracts of purified HeLa nuclei contain DNase activities which can be separated by CM-Sephadex column chromatography into four distinct enzymes. These DNases differ in their resistance to thermal inactivation and relative activity on different substrates. Each of these DNases can increase the template-primer activity of native DNA for DNA polymerase action.
