Abstract
center dot Nasoalveolar molding (NAM) is a presurgical infant orthopedic therapy often conducted within the first few weeks after birth to gradually align the alveolar segments and reshape the soft tissue and cartilaginous tissues of the lip and nose in patients with cleft lip and palate. center dot The proposed benefits of NAM include improvements to lip gap, nasal symmetry, columella length, and alveolar segment alignment; reduction in extent of primary nasal surgery and revision surgery frequency; and an overall reduction in financial and psychological burden for the patient and caregiver. center dot Emerging digital workflows appear to be clinically effective alternatives to traditional NAM workflows and may improve the patient, caregiver, and clinician experience.
