Abstract
One consequence of downsizing, right-sizing and focusing on core competencies has been cutting heads in market research, resulting in a sometimes overwhelming workload for researchers who remain. Now, a new type of business-oriented market research consultant has developed as part of the wave of "lone rangers" and can change the situation for the better for the understaffed market research department.
