Abstract

Biliary Tract Diseases - therapy Evidence-Based Medicine Humans Kidney Diseases - therapy Liver Diseases - therapy Parenteral Nutrition
Providing nutritional support for patients with liver, biliary, pancreatic, or renal disease can be challenging because of the complexity associated with the underlying disease state. Parenteral nutrition interventions should be determined using sound, evidence-based practice recommendations, not based on tradition. This article discusses the current evidence-based practice guidelines for providing parenteral nutrition formula modification to patients with liver, biliary, pancreatic or renal disease.
