Abstract
A new species of Pen Shell, Pinna (Subitopinna) evexa new species, is described from material collected in Indonesia and elsewhere in Southeast Asia. Comparison is made with related taxa from the Indo-Pacific region. The new species is apparently widely distributed and present in many collections under incorrect identifications. The problem of using older names that are based on single specimens to identify morphologically plastic taxa is discussed.
