Abstract

Porphyrins Raman spectroscopy Usage
It has been possible to measure resonance Raman spectra of Ni(II) and Cu(II) 2,2,7,8,12,13,17,18-octamethylchlorin in CS2 solution. The reduction of a pyrrole ring is able to destabilize the porphyrin macrocycle so that nonplanar distortions are induced even when Cu(II) is used as the central metal.
