Abstract
The roots of human violence extend deeply into the dark history of our species just as the roots of individual violence extend deeply and pervasively into the childhood history of each person. One of the fundamental questions of our era is "How can we prevent the abuse of children?". The answer to this question may, in fact, have a great deal to do with whether we are able to continue to survive and prosper. [1st paragraph]
