Pulmonary Function Testing in Singers with Voice Difficulties
Journal of singing, v 79(5), p627
01 May 2023
Abstract
Good respiratory function is a key component of the power source of the voice. If pulmonary (lung) function is impaired, effective support is impaired. Commonly, this leads to compensatory hyperfunction of neck muscles that may result in vocal fold injury. Lung function can be tested easily and safely. When abnormal, treatment is available in many cases.
