Abstract

A pulmonary lesion representing a cavitating infarct resulted from the inadvertent administration of hypertonic intravenous alimentation solution into the left pulmonary artery. Insistence upon the exact localization of the catheter tip prior to the start of the infusion should be mandatory in the management of parenteral nutrition
