Abstract
The Stock Exchange intends Alternative Investment Management (AIM) to provide smaller, young and growing companies with a realistic and less costly alternative to a full flotation on the Official List. The long-term success of AIM will be dependent on a number of factors, including its ability to attract companies with strong growth prospects, and to develop investor confidence. However, this new market may provide businesses and investors with the best opportunity yet to establish an alternative to the Official List.
