Abstract
The structural differences of two group chain decompositions for a multi-
j IBA supersymmetry applicable to nuclei in an O(6) region are discussed in terms of core polarization, and compared to data for
197Pt. It is shown that the wave functions for the lowest two representations are identical in the two chains. This is interpreted in terms of the concept of stretched configurations and leads to suggested experiments to better distinguish the two alternative supersymmetries. Analogous results for an SU(5) region are briefly outlined.
