Mar 1988
Abstract
THE level of alcohol, tobacco, solvent and drug use by 1882 school children aged between 14 and 15 years within Pontefract Health District was examined by means of a questionnaire. Alcohol and tobacco use was relatively high, and comparable to similar studies elsewhere. The use of substances other than alcohol and tobacco was reported by a much lower percentage. Behavioural factors associated with sub stance use were examined, and implications for health education suggested.
