Abstract
A critical comparison is made of the vertex constant,

Li-
α-d
2, derived from various sources. It is found that the extracted values fall into two distinct sets. Arguments are presented for preferring those values which collect around the larger figure

Li-
α-d
2 ≈ 5.7, which is favored by a majority of realistic α-d intercluster wave functions, and photodisintegration, transfer-reaction and quasifree-scattering data.
