The Gulf War as adolescent crisis
The Journal of psychohistory, Vol.19(1), pp.85-96
01 Jul 1991
Abstract
Lloyd deMause has described the Gulf War as a "mental disorder" and has labeled that disorder PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder'. In that article, he makes an interesting argument for the psychological and traumatic origins of war in general and this war in particular and ends by discussing childhood trauma as the source of this recurrent posttraumatic re-enactment of warfare.
