Abstract
Three current broad research areas regarding work-family relationships are identified: the nature of the work-family interface; two-career relationships; & organizational responsiveness to work-family issues. It is suggested that future research address such issues as work-family conflict, daily transitions between work & family roles, the role of career orientation in two-career relationships, the relationship between two-career status & career accomplishments, & the implications of work-family interaction for career growth in organizational settings. The importance of examining theoretical models, applying diverse research methodologies, & developing valid measurement operations is emphasized. 72 References. HA
