The Older Person as Mediator between Technology and Environment: Toward the Role of "Technoguide"
Sociological practice, Vol.11, pp.227-238

Abstract
Because of their presence during the course of the twentieth-century technological revolution, the elderly can provide valuable insight into the use (& enjoyment) of new technology. Retirees could supplement their career knowledge with new knowledge about new technologies & help test, evaluate, & propose improvements in new products relevant to the needs & wants of the elderly. As "technoguides," the elderly would have a new social role. Models already in place for technoguide clubs are cited. The elderly could be even more valuable as mediators between technology & the environment as technological development accelerates. 1 Appendix, 10 References. M. Pflum
