The Politics of Contraception. Djerassi, Carl
Women & health, v 8(4), p57
31 Dec 1983
Abstract
The Politics of Contraception is not a scholarly treatise. Nor is it a guide to contraceptive practice. It is, in the words of its author Carl Djerassi, a "concentrated, personal outpouring" of his own opinions and conclusions, which have been shaped by his "bigamous professional life." Djerassi is a Professor of Chemistry at Stanford University, a former employee and officer at Syntex (one manufacturer of birth control pills), and co-founder and President of Zoecon, a corporation developing new approaches to insect control. He was also centrally involved in research leading to the development of the Pill.
