The infrared spectrum and conformation of acetone oxime vinyl ether
Vibrational spectroscopy, v 13(2)

Abstract
The infrared spectrum of acetone oxime vinyl ether (AOVE) has been studied for the gaseous, liquid and solid phases as well as in an inert matrix at low temperatures. HF-SCF calculations have been carried out on AOVE and they predict the presence of one dominant rotamer with a heavy atom planar (
trans) structure. The infrared spectrum is consistent with this conclusion, and assignments are made to many of the normal modes. Specific assignments have also been made for all the observed
1H and
13C NMR spectral lines.
