Abstract
Although not a threatening medical problem, urinary incontinence is a significant social problem for many women. The authors explain the four types of incontinence, ways to differentiate among them with office procedures, and features of each type that affect choice of treatment. Nonsurgical management with drugs, strengthening exercises, hormones, self-catheterization, and mechanical devices is detailed.
