Abstract
•In pulmonary fibrosis, CT detection of UIP is influenced by radiologist expertise.•Thoracic radiologist overreads disagree strongly with real-world CT report findings.•UIP or its components often not reported when present by thoracic radiologist read.•When UIP present but not documented on reports, invasive diagnostic testing higher.•In Veterans with pulmonary fibrosis, radiologist expertise could impact diagnosis.
