college coaches' views about the development of successful athletes: A descriptive exploratory investigation

Abstract
Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 NCAA Division 1 coaches in which they were asked to discuss their experiences coaching specific athletes who made substantial progress while they participated on their team. The implications of these results are discussed in terms of existing research and practical applications in sport psychology.
