Search Rescue

Originally published in the April 2012 issue of Campus Technology, the piece argues against the then-common idea that digital content and tablets would make physical libraries obsolete. The rise of digital platforms and mobile computing does not render libraries obsolete, but rather increases the necessity for librarians to guide users through information overload. The abundance of digital information makes the specialized "search and rescue" skills of librarians more vital than ever for helping researchers navigate complex information landscape. and guide student and researchers toward credible, high-quality, and reliable information.
