Abstract
The objective of this proposal is to present on the development of a scale for measuring implicit beliefs about creativity in order to explore and better understand the individual student's mindset regarding their "motivation to create," and its relationship with other related constructs such as creative self-efficacy and creative self-identity. A sample of 620 participants from two different Universities completed a survey including a number of measures of mindsets and also a measure of creativity. The large sample was divided and EFA was conducted for one half, and CFA for the other. In addition, relationships with a self-report measure of creativity with growth and fixed mindsets was examined. Results suggest that the newly developed scale is reliable and valid.
