About
Dr. Adrian Shieh received his BSE in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. From 2000 to 2006, he conducted his PhD research in Bioengineering at Rice University with Prof. Kyriacos Athanasiou, studying how single chondrocytes responded to mechanical forces. From 2006 until 2010, he was conducting post-doctoral research at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland, working with Prof. Melody Swartz to better understand the role of tumor-fibroblast interactions and fluid flow on invasive tumor behavior. Since joining Drexel, Dr. Shieh’s focus has been on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying how cancer cells respond to interstitial fluid flow.
