Alexander Dizhoor, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Neurobiology & Anatomy at Drexel University College of Medicine. He is a well-funded and established scientist at Salus University now part of Drexel University. Dizhoor has over 100 peer-reviewed publications with a lifetime h-Index of 41 and is an editor of journals. He is frequently invited to give seminars throughout the world.
Dizhoor's expertise and research programs are focused on studying photoreceptors and using gene therapy to correct visual impairment. He has been continuously funded by the NIH with one of his grants continuously active for 28 years. He holds an important and valuable patent “Restoration of Visual Responses By in vivo Delivery of Rhodopsin Nucleic Acids.”
