About

Diane D. DePew, PhD, is an associate clinical professor in the Graduate Nursing Division. She is board-certified in nursing professional development, and a certified nurse educator by the National League of Nursing. DePew is a certified VoiceThread educator. She is certified to use the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi 2.0) to assess and develop emotional intelligence (EI) skills. DePew is also a certified coach with a focus on leadership development.

DePew’s teaching experience has included unit level educator in the open-heart recovery room at the University of Maryland Medical Center, critical care division educator at the National Institutes of Health, clinical instructor for Georgetown University and director of Education, Practice and Research at Shady Grove Adventist Healthcare. Since coming to Drexel University, she has taught in the ACE program and the MSN Leadership and Nurse Educator programs.

Before coming to Drexel University, DePew worked on a virtual outreach center for psychological health and traumatic brain injury serving mainly the military population. Her nursing, teaching and collaboration skills were heavily relied upon for the training of outreach professionals and integrating resources and clients with the National Intrepid Center of Excellence. Her clinical areas have included medical-surgical, oncology, critical care and open-heart recovery. While at the bedside, she was a certified critical-care registered nurse.

DePew continues to consult in areas of continuing education, leadership, emotional intelligence and evaluation. She brings her experiences to education, leadership and research concepts and applications.
