Joel Horwitz, PhD, is a professor emeritus in the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology at Drexel University College of Medicine. His educational roles included serving as the co-director of the Human Disease Systems course and thread director for Pharmacology in the Foundations and Frontier curriculum for MD students. He also facilitated physiology and pharmacology simulations as well as first- and second-year case-based learning. He is particularly interested in the role of simulation in medical education as well as other active learning modalities.
