Dr. Kristen Betts is a Clinical Professor in the School of Education at Drexel University. Dr. Betts has over 20 years of teaching in higher education and serving in key leadership positions within private, public, and for-profit institutions. She teaches in the EdD program in Educational Leadership & Management, Mind, Brain & Learning concentration and certificate program, MS program in Higher Education Leadership, and MS program in Creativity & Innovation. Dr. Betts’ expertise is in higher education administration, learning sciences, online/blended learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, faculty development, and program development. She has served twice as a peer evaluator for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). She is a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant reviewer for Learning & Cognition Technologies and Human-Computer Interaction, a grant reviewer for the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, and a faculty mentor with the American Association of Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) Institute on AI, Pedagogy, and Curriculum. Dr. Betts received the Research Excellence Award and Teaching Excellence Award from the Drexel’s School of Education, CITE Award for Excellence in Online Administration from Pearson, and the 2024 Christian R. & Mary F. Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching from Drexel University. Dr. Betts has been a reviewer with 22 journals and publishers. She publishes and presents on topics related to educational neuroscience, AI, program design, student engagement/retention, faculty development, and online learning. Dr. Betts is the co-founder/co-director of the Education, Learning and Brain Sciences (E-LaBS) Research Collaborative and an advisory board member on the Freddie Reisman Center (FRC) for Translational Research in Creativity and Motivation.
