About

Maureen Sullivan Gonzales is an assistant clinical professor in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. She is a certified women’s health nurse practitioner, who practiced primarily in the area of high-risk obstetrics. Gonzales has many years of experience in all areas of women’s health, from gynecologic oncology to obstetrics. She has served in many nursing roles including as a labor and delivery nurse, nurse practitioner, postpartum nurse practitioner and childbirth instructor. Presently, she is the course chair of Reproductive Health Across the Lifespan, which includes the women’s health undergraduate content. Prior to joining the faculty full time, Gonzales taught various labs and women’s health clinicals as an adjunct professor. She also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania. She serves as a member in the Robert Wood Johnson mentoring program, The Board of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and is a Drexel Nursing Faculty Global Health Equity Scholar. Gonzales has presented at conferences on creating an inclusive classroom and the importance of diversity in the nursing profession. She is presently a doctoral student at Widener University, pursuing a PhD in Nursing Education.
