Merrill W. Liechty, Ph.D., is a Clinical Professor of Decision Sciences. Although his primary role at Drexel University is teaching statistics, Professor Liechty’s research focuses on the use of Bayesian Statistics applied to topics such as higher moment estimation, portfolio selection, cross price elasticity, and allocation of resources. His work has been published in Biometrika, the Journal of Investment Management, the Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Statistics and Computing, and Applied Economic Letters. His current work studies face to face human communication and social interaction. He has conducted research on this topic using functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS). He is a founding partner of Brytfish, a company that teaches effective conversation skills and social energy.
