About

My research and scholarship is investigating the sustainability of Pre-K outcomes; building frameworks of support for preschool social-emotional learning; creating nurturing classroom climates and promoting altruism-sustainability linkages in education. My masters and PhD are both in early childhood education from Old Dominion University. I’ve worked as a first and second grade teacher, college instructor, and in the non-profit sector. I enjoy learning how to be a global citizen by promoting community empowerment and international partnerships. Scholarship, service and family activities have taken me to more than 30 countries. After growing up in California, I graduated from college in Canada, met my wife in China, got married in Malaysia…and settled here after joining Drexel University in 2015. My wife and I live in the Roxborough area of Philadelphia with our young son, one indoor tree and a few plants! We enjoy nature and participating in our faith community.
