About

Monika Jost, PhD, received her MS degree in microbiology, genetics and biochemistry from Saarland University in Germany, and earned her PhD after spending several years at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia. Following a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Biology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, she worked as senior scientist in a biotech startup company.
In 2007, she joined the College of Medicine faculty to develop the molecular track of the Master of Forensic Science (MFS) program, now part of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies. She also supported the Coulter Translational Research program as liaison for the College of Medicine. Since then Dr. Jost has expanded her educational activities to teaching biochemistry and cell and molecular biology to students in premedical and professional programs, and serves as program director for the Master of Science in Biomedical Studies program, as well as director of the Division of Pre-medical and Pre-health Programs.
