Dr. Schwartz is an associate professor of anesthesia and pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine. He lectures on topics including:

  • Use and misuse of lateral neck x-rays
  • Electrical safety in the operating room
  • Anesthetic considerations for pediatric eye surgery
  • Massive transfusion
  • Liver transplant anesthesia
  • Anesthetic considerations for patients with congenital heart disease undergoing non-cardiac procedures
  • Anesthetic issues in patients with retroperitoneal tumors
  • Adult respiratory distress syndrome in pediatrics
  • Neurosurgical anesthesia in pediatrics
  • Anesthesia for the ex-premature infant



Dr. Roy Schwartz is an attending pediatric anesthesiologist at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. He is board certified in pediatrics and anesthesiology, with a special competence in critical care from the American Board of Anesthesiology.

He serves as director of the Department of Anesthesiology and medical director of the recovery room at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
