Steve Melly, MS, MA, Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist has extensive experience using GIS to model the physical world for public health research. Working closely with epidemiologists and biostatisticians, he has used GIS to create variables from spatial datasets that can be used in statistical models of exposure to air pollution or other environmental hazards and in research on the relationship of the environment to physical activity. He has also used GIS to create neighborhood measures of the social environment for health studies. Mr. Melly earned an MS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University.
