Wei Song

Wei Song, Ph.D., is an early-career autism researcher with a focus on adulthood, community participation, outcome measurement, and strategies to improve quality of life. Her work includes developing and evaluating intervention programs, particularly peer-support models, aimed at enhancing the community participation and independence of autistic adults.

Dr. Song’s work spans diverse study designs, including randomized controlled interventions, applications of innovative technologies (e.g., GPS tracking and momentary assessments) for primary data collection, and multilevel analyses of large-scale datasets. Her scholarship bridges primary and secondary data to generate actionable insights that advance health equity, improve community-based services, and shape national policy for autistic youth and adults.

Her research is grounded in strong partnerships with autistic individuals, families, service providers, and other researchers, with ongoing efforts to build the capacity for autistic voices to shape research and to expand her academic and community partnerships.
