Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the evidence supporting the use of medication as an adjunct to treatment with dialectical behavior therapy. The evidence for using pharmacotherapy for the symptoms of borderline personality disorder is reviewed. Principles that facilitate collaborative care and the specific approach DBT takes to combined treatment are illustrated with clinical examples.
