Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the evidence supporting the use of CBT in patients with schizophrenia in conjunction with medication. It particularly attends to adherence, the problem of co-morbid substance abuse, the management of delusions and hallucinations, suicide risk, and negative symptoms. Principles that facilitate collaborative care and a team approach are illustrated with clinical examples.
