About

Alexej Dick is an assistant professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Drexel University College of Medicine.
At the forefront of molecular virology, biophysics, structural biology and drug discovery, our research employs multidisciplinary techniques to address complex viral infections and cancer challenges. We are committed to deciphering the intricate viral replication mechanisms and leveraging this knowledge to develop innovative inhibitors, such as small molecules and cyclic peptides. With a focus on the structure and function of viral proteins, particularly retroviruses, and orthomyxoviruses, our objective is to impede viral replication and investigate promising strategies for an HIV cure. Additionally, we utilize our expertise to create effective solutions to combat the devastating effects of breast cancer brain metastasis. Our mission is to make a lasting impact in the life of patients, life sciences and beyond through groundbreaking innovation, humor and fun, computational-aided drug design and a profound dedication to understanding molecular mechanisms.
