Charles R Morscheck

After two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Philippines, I did graduate study in art history at Bryn Mawr College. I have taught at Drexel since 1976. My fields of research include: Milanese Renaissance Sculpture; the Cathedral of Milan, the Certosa di Pavia and Milanese Renaissance church-building practices. My areas of teaching competence include: Introductory Survey to Western Art; Greek and Roman Art and Antiquarianism; Roman Imperial Numismatics; Iconography; Early Christian Art; Late Medieval Manuscript Illumination; Early Netherlandish Painting; Baroque Painting in the Circle of Peter Paul Rubens; American Painting in the Circle of Benjamin West; History of Furniture; History of Costume. My current research focus is a project to find, analyze and publish archival documents on the Solari family of Milanese Renaissance artists. I have been happily married since 1966 and have two children and two grandsons.
