About

Dr. Christine Fiori is the Program Director of the Construction Management Program and Department Head of the Engineering Leadership and Society department at Drexel University where she teaches courses in Project Controls, Equipment Applications and Economics, Leadership, Safety, and Strategic Management. Prior to joining the faculty at Drexel, she was the Preston and Catharine White Fellow and Associate Director of the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. She received her PhD in Civil Engineering from Drexel University in 1997. She served as a Civil Engineering officer in the United States Air Force and taught at both the US Air Force Academy and Arizona State University.
Fiori’s passion for building was stoked early in life as both her father and grandfather were carpenters. Her research on the construction techniques of the Inca road throughout Peru was part of a Smithsonian exhibit at the National Museum of the American Indian through 2021. She was recognized as an Engineering News Record Top 25 Newsmakers of 2010 for her research on the Inca Road. Additionally, she was featured on the Science Channel in an Episode of Strip the City pertaining to Machu Picchu. Fiori is the co-author of the recently published, “Handbook for Building Construction: Administration, Materials, Design and Safety.”
