About

Dr. Bennett earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1978, and completed his residency in Primary Care at the Eye Institute in 1979. He is also the Eye Group Coordinator of the Nemours Health Clinic in Wilmington, Delaware, and he maintains a private practice in Philadelphia. He is the course director for The Glaucomas: Diagnosis and Treatment at Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Bennett is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and serves as a referee for American Journal of Optometry and Physiological Optics and Journal of the American Optometric Association. He is also a reviewer for Optometry and Clinical Vision Science. Dr. Bennett holds the rank of Professor of Optometry at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Adjunct Associate Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology at Drexel University School of Medicine.
Dr. Bennett lectures extensively, and is an active clinical researcher. He has authored or co-authored over 50 published articles, and presented a number of his papers at conferences and symposiums. Currently, Dr. Bennett is a principal investigator of the Ocular Hypertensive Treatment Study (OHTS), a multi-center clinical glaucoma trial funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
