About

Dr. Kristine Grant is a Clinical Professor of Multicultural and Urban Education in the Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Department of Drexel's School of Education. Her research interests include family-school-community partnerships in urban schools, and online teaching and learning. She recently published an edited volume with Dr. Vera Lee titled Advancing Culturally Responsive and Socially Just Approaches to Multilingual Family-School Partnerships (Lexington Books, 2023). In addition, she co-authored a book with Dr. Stephanie Smith Budhai (University of Delaware) titled Culturally Responsive Teaching Online and In Person: An Action Planner for Dynamic Equitable Learning Environments (Corwin Books, 2022). Dr. Grant has contributed co-authored chapters to several edited books including IMPACT of the Scholarly Practitioner Doctorate: Exercising Socially Just Leadership and Making Equitable Change (Myers Press, 2024), Synchronous and Asynchronous Approaches to Teaching: Higher Education Lessons in Post-Pandemic Times (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023), and Making a Positive Impact in Rural Places: Change Agency in the Context of School-University-Community Collaboration in Education (Information Age, 2018). Her research has been published in several academic journals including Multicultural Education, Sociology of Education, Journal of Research in Education, and Education and Urban Society. She has also presented at academic conferences such as the American Educational Research Association, National Association for Multicultural Education, Carnegie Project for the Education Doctorate, Family Involvement Conference, and the International Conference on Urban Education. She is a longstanding member of the board for the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Association for Multicultural Education. Dr. Grant teaches in the Teacher Education and EdD Programs, including courses in family-school-community partnerships, program evaluation, and qualitative research methods.
