Liza Herzog, JD, PhD is the Director of Academic Research and Assessment at the Charles D Close School of Entrepreneurship, and affiliated faculty in Drexel's School of Education and at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. She has 20 years of experience in education across higher education both as an administrator and as a faculty member and in K-12 education in key leadership positions in nonprofits and within educational institutions and organizations as an applied researcher, in program design and implementation, evaluation and policy. As the VP of Research, Evaluation and Planning at the Philadelphia Education Fund, Liza authored early warning indicator research that led to the development of tiered interventions for students and District-wide policy changes in Philadelphia and at the state level in Louisiana, Florida, and Maryland. As the Director of Master’s of Education programming at the University of the Arts, Liza built an MEd in Educational Program Design and an MEd in Educational Technology for in-service teachers. Her work crosses curriculum design and development, program evaluation and assessment, strategic school improvement planning, and research design. Liza has served as a lead on accreditation with Middle States Council on Higher Education (MSCHE) and the Association for Advancement of Colleges and Schools of Business (AACSB) and serves on several local Boards, on the Wistar Institute Leadership Council School Advisory Councils. She is an active partner in cross-city and regional efforts Readby4th, Cultural Data Alliance, Riverways, Friends of Neighborhood Education, and Impact100. Before working in education, Liza practiced as a lawyer in Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
